Suspension Techniques Sway Bars For MK III Supra

The MK III Supra is a substantial piece of hardware. My car weighs over 3700 pounds without me in it. Its handling was acceptable but not especially crisp. I wanted to firm it up, but I didn't want to lower the car or make it ride more harshly. Fitting a set of Suspension Techniques sway bars made a marked difference in the way the car handled and didn't adversely affect the ride. Probably one the best suspension mods to do.

The bars were relatively easy to install. I did them myself, in about 3 hours, with a little help from TimJ and my bro'. This included jacking up the car on each end, removing the old bars and fitting the new ones. The bushings had to be taken down a little with a belt sander to make them fit just right, but this was covered in the installation instructions and was no big deal. This step would have been much harder without the belt sander. We later fitted a set to my bro's car and this took only about 2 - 2 1/2 hours

Here's a shot of the complete kit. The bars were larger in diameter than the stock bars and were a lot heavier, which provided a lot more torsional rigidity.

Here's a closeup of the bushings and brackets that came with the kit.

Here's a shot of the right rear wheelwell. You can see the new swaybar just to the left of the muffler.
